The facility has, within a 5 minute drive, access to one of the largest 'out of town' Shopping Malls within the UK and 22 eating establishments ranging from a roadside cafe, through a Lochfyne fish restaurant to an a-la-carte menu at the local Haycock Hotel. During summer months a cafeteria can be reached, by foot, within a few minutes.

Activities around the area include, historic aircraft flights, parachuting, dry ski slope, ice skating or for those wishing tranquillity, there are many serene walks. In house, DSM has a number of rest areas together with a small leisure facility equipped with table football and various gymnasium machinery.
